![]() ![]() One sharp point that they made was the idea that the current values exhibited by our generation are in complete disagreement with the Civil Right's movement, a backlash of sorts fostered by the lack of dramatic change caused by that movement.Īnd one of the more interesting points that was brought up by Harry Belafonte was the fact that current hip-hop has sold it's soul when the industry came shaking 'a bag of thirty pieces of silver.' Once the industry decided that 'bitches, blunts, burners & beepers' sold better, they marketed it, promoted it and thus, we have the current state of hip-hop which has strayed from it's roots. ![]() It's hard to say exactly what they discussed because they touched on a myriad of topics ranging from Blacks in film past & present, comedic influences. Paul Mooney held it down for the first thirty minutes with his usual style of hilarious wisecracks. I found it to be very entertaining and informative, this coming from someone who's not the biggest fan of roundtable discussions. I actually stayed up.well I was up and ended up watching 'Now That's What I'm Talking About'. ![]()
